Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and Cerner proficiency, with day shifts and on-call responsibilities.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital OR setting with 21 rooms and an average daily census of 70-80
- Surgical specialties covered include general, plastics, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, colorectal, and robotics (CV and transplant excluded)
- Circulator role required; scrub experience preferred
- OR RNs are expected to be well-rounded and will float across surgical specialties as needed
- Day shift: 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- On-call required at approximately 40–60 hours per 6-week period (may vary)
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
- Charting via Cerner (experience required)
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of start; temporary IN license also accepted
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required
- Level I Trauma center experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Circulatoring skills required; scrub skills preferred
- RN degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are eligible for this position at a adjusted pay package
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month separation before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents and 180 days for in-state residents
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
