Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and advanced fetal monitoring certification.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a 266-bed acute care hospital located beachside in California
- Unit includes 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
- Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
- Fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring are core components of the role
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to postpartum (PP) required when staffing needs arise; couplet care (maternal and newborn) may be expected
- No on-call required
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Scrubs are provided for L&D staff
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required; pending licensure is not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Required certifications: AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and FHM
- Epic EMR experience required
- Ability to float to postpartum and perform couplet care (newborn and maternal)
- Newborn role experience in the delivery room is a plus
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- RTO must be submitted at the time of profile submission; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
- Former permanent employees of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Block scheduling requests are considered at the manager's discretion
- Parking is available on-site for a fee (hang-tag or keycard options) or at an offsite location at a reduced rate
