Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Electrophysiology Lab position requiring EP and Cath Lab experience, working a Monday–Friday day shift schedule.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Lab setting
- Primary assignment is in the EP Lab with floating coverage to the Cath Lab as needed
- May occasionally be asked to cover TEE/CV procedures in an intra-procedure capacity, with responsibilities limited to documenting timeout, procedure tracking, and circulating the room
- Patient population includes those undergoing invasive EP procedures such as ablations, LAAOs, permanent pacemaker implantations, ICDs, and Bi-V-ICDs
- Competency required with EP monitoring/stimulation systems, intracardiac echo, and 3D mapping systems
- Charting via Cerner
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM; 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
- 40 hours per week
- 12-week contract
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; prior experience in a Cath Lab or high-acuity critical care/ED setting preferred
- Electrophysiology experience required, including procedures such as ablations and LAAOs
- BSN preferred, or required within 5 years
- RCIS or RCES credential preferred
- Scrub experience is a bonus
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for assisting physicians with all EP Lab procedures using appropriate sterile technique, including implantation of pacemakers, ICDs, and Bi-V-ICDs
- Monitors patient, staff, and physician radiation exposure and maintains exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable
- Administers medications, defibrillation, or other treatments as ordered and within scope of practice
- Accurately enters patient demographics into physiological monitoring and x-ray equipment, and collects and records patient data during procedures
- Assists with room cleaning, restocking, and inventory maintenance
- Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
- Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
