Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a rural, JCAHO-accredited hospital in Northwestern Arizona, serving the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities.

• Located in a rural, JCAHO-accredited hospital in Northwestern Arizona serving a 4,400 square mile area, including the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations
• Operating Room setting with a diverse surgical caseload including orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, general surgery, ophthalmology, and dental procedures
• Approximately 49% of surgeries are outpatient/ambulatory procedures
• Circulating responsibilities required across all surgical specialty areas; scrubbing experience is encouraged
• Day shift: 10-hour shifts from 6:30am – 5:00pm, four days per week
• On-call required, with potential for varied or irregular hours and emergency cases on short notice

Requirements

• Active RN license from any U.S. state, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory (AZ or compact license is NOT required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• PALS required within 6 months of hire
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) required within 6 months of hire
• CNOR certification required within 1 year of hire
• TNCC required within 2 years of hire
• Minimum 2–3 years of clinical nursing and/or OR experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Additional Information

• The OR RN is responsible for perioperative patient care, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning and evaluating interventions based on patient outcomes
• Must be prepared to respond to emergency surgical cases on very short notice
• This facility is located in a very rural area — candidates should be comfortable working in a remote, culturally diverse community
• Facility offers limited shared housing units at $600/month, based on availability; no family members or pets are permitted in housing
• A housing application must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the assignment start date
• Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
• COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
• Orientation runs on a two-week cycle
