Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties and current travel experience.
Details
- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts (10:30-21:00)
- Weekend requirements are variable and discussed during interview
- Call requirements are variable and discussed during interview
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice, including to Outpatient as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
- Required experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic surgical specialties
- Prior travel nurse experience required; unit does not accept first-time travelers
- Experience with specific procedures required including craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, joint replacement, and arthroscopy
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Transplant experience including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas procedures
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties in a high-acuity OR environment
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Candidates must complete full compliance requirements on time to avoid a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of consideration
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week or after offer/onsite
- No holiday RTO approved if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment; if 3 major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request may be considered
- Blackout dates apply for RTO: 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd from a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
