Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with strong orthopedic surgical skills for a 13-week travel contract at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Minnesota, with prior travel experience required.

Details

• General OR setting within an acute care teaching hospital (Level 3 trauma, 317 beds)
• Primary focus on orthopedic surgery cases, with general surgery as a secondary specialty
• Orthopedic skills include ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, total joint replacement, spinal fusion, open/closed reduction of fractures, and more
• Additional surgical specialties covered include general surgery, vascular, gynecology, urology, robotics (Da Vinci Xi), neurology, bariatrics, cardiovascular, plastics, and podiatry
• Day and evening shifts available on a 5x8 schedule; start times vary (0645, 0900, 1100, or 1445)
• Weekend shifts required on an as-needed basis
• On-call required on an as-needed basis
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated
• Charting system: Epic (Excellian) — experience required
• Equipment includes electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana Table, and Da Vinci Xi Surgical System

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted at time of offer)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of strong OR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Orthopedic surgical scrubbing experience required
• Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Fingerprinting (LiveScan) required — results must be on file prior to start

Additional Information

• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Pre-start online modules are required and must be completed before the first day of work
• Candidates who previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift to be eligible
• RTO requests are limited to no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract
• This health system does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to those who previously worked as permanent employees
