  • 3rd Floor (20 beds) has a cardiac focus: post-op procedural, post-op day 1 open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post-caths, pacemakers, and med-tele patients

  • Common drips include set-rate cardiac gtts, amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine; heparin and insulin titration required on rare occasions (insulin training provided if needed)
  • RT is available on each floor and manages high-flow, BiPAP, and CPAP; RNs may be asked to assist

  • 12-hour day shifts, 7a–7p

  • Valid driver's license required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

  • Charge nurses on each unit typically do not carry a patient assignment; crisis and resource nurses are available in-house
  • Holiday coverage may be required, but travelers would not be expected to work every holiday
  • Any color scrubs are permitted

Pros

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish. Everything was explained clearly, and I always knew what the next step was, i never felt like i was left in the dark. One of my favorite things has been how communicative everyone is. Whether it’s my recruiter, Amanda, or Iranna from payroll, I always get a quick response when I have a question. It’s nice working with a team that actually follows up and keeps you in the loop. Amanda has been awesome throughout my assignment. She checks in regularly with a call or text just to see how things are going and make sure I don’t need anything. That level of support has really stood out to me. I’m rly happy I chose American Traveler for my first assignment, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.
