Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) position requiring at least 2 years of cardiac open heart recovery experience and a minimum of 2 prior travel assignments.
Details
- Work in a fast-paced, 32-bed cardiovascular surgical step-down unit (CVPCU)
- Unit is made up of a multidisciplinary team caring for post-op cardiac, vascular, and thoracic patients
- Patient population includes those recovering from CABG, valve repairs, valve replacements, heart and lung transplants, and LVAD management
- 12 beds support IMC-level continuous cardiac monitoring; remaining 20 beds are telemetry (intermittent) or floor-level (non-monitored)
- Mixed level-of-care assignments with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 on days and 1:4 on nights
- Utilizes Epic EMR
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Critical Care Certification (e.g., CCRN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac open heart recovery experience required
- At least 2 previous travel assignments required
- Strong surgical IMC experience required
- ICU experience required for management of high-acuity IMC patients
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Clinicians will care for high-acuity patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries, including those with Mechanical Circulatory Support devices such as LVADs
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
