Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a remote Utilization Review position requiring at least 5 years of RN experience and current UR experience with InterQual criteria software.
Details
- Fully remote position with no on-site reporting required
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities
- No direct patient care — this is a medical review role only
- Responsible for utilization review of health plan members across acute care, sub-acute, and acute rehabilitation settings
- Uses Epic and InterQual criteria software
Requirements
- Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) currently in hand
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
- Current utilization review (UR) experience required
- Epic experience required
- Proficiency with InterQual criteria software required
- Minimum 1 year of managed care utilization review experience preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Monitors appropriateness of care for plan members in acute hospital, sub-acute, and acute rehabilitation settings
- Applies member benefit and medical criteria to authorize services in coordination with Medical Directors
- Proactively initiates discharge planning, including identification of post-discharge needs and coordination of referrals and services
- Communicates authorization and/or denial of covered services verbally and in writing with providers, facilities, and members
- Must maintain acceptable documentation and quality standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required to interact with enrollees, physicians, facility staff, and management
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts with external customers
- Candidate must supply their own computer equipment — no equipment will be issued
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
