Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular ICU RN for a 9-week travel contract in Louisville, KY, with prior critical care or open-heart experience preferred.
Details
- Position is based in a Cardiovascular Recovery unit within a hospital setting
- The unit consists of a 5-bed Cardiovascular Open Heart Recovery (CVR) area providing immediate post-op cardiac recovery, and a 7-bed CVICU delivering ongoing critical care for cardiac surgery patients
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 9-week contract
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Prior critical care or open-heart experience preferred
- Candidates must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, patient and family education, and coordination of admission, transfer, and discharge activities
- Clinical decision-making is expected to incorporate all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice
- RNs are expected to delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the execution of patient care
- Active participation in unit-based quality improvement activities is expected, including monitoring for patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and patient satisfaction
