Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Alabama, requiring ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP certifications, with OB Triage experience highly preferred.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes active labor patients, antepartum patients as young as 27 weeks, PIH/Magnesium patients, and preterm labor patients
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Procedures performed include NST, continuous fetal monitoring, fetal scalp electrode placement, IV starts, amnioinfusion, assisting anesthesia during epidural placement, and attending (not scrubbing) C-sections
- Documentation via Epic and GE Centricity
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active Alabama RN license or compact RN license valid in Alabama, required at time of consideration
- Current certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS, and NRP
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- OB Triage experience highly preferred
- Experience working in large healthcare facilities required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; highly experienced candidates without travel experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 90 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Former permanent staff of this facility are not eligible for travel roles until 10 years following their separation
- Travelers who complete 2 consecutive contracts must take a 6-month break before returning; exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis
- Pre-start modules are required prior to the beginning of the assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
