Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring at least one year of recent ER experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a high acuity, high volume Emergency Department at a Level III Trauma Hospital
• General ER Dept with a combined Adult/Pediatric work setting
• Patient population includes Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 30 minute lunch break required with no skipped meals

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Minimum one year of recent ER experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS via AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Fit test required
• CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
• Skilled in Blood Product Administration, Central Line Care/Management, IV Starts, Continuous IV Sedation, IV Vasopressors, and Procedural Sedation Administration
• Experience with Ortho-Trauma and identifying/reporting abuse in pediatric patients
• Experience managing pediatric near drowning, respiratory infections, and seizures
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past two years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high acuity, high volume setting
• Perform triage and use isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Manage complex cases including shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation
• Local candidates within a 60 mile radius are considered at a local rate
• Requested time off (RTO) cannot exceed 7 days
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
