Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 5 years of experience, travel experience, and a valid IN or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric population
• 13-week contract at a community hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Labor Day coverage required, plus every 4th weekend
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating within scope may be required based on facility needs
• Charting system: Meditech Expanse (experience strongly preferred)
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate if residing within 50 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, CEN
• Preferred certifications: ENPC, SANE, TNCC
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Experience with a broad range of ED skills including triage, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, respiratory management, psychiatric care, and emergency medications
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, chest tubes, procedural sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Stroke-certified facility experience preferred
• STEMI-certified facility experience preferred

Additional Information

• Manage a diverse ED caseload including trauma, neurological emergencies, psychiatric holds, pediatric cases, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Responsibilities include triage, 12-lead EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and administration of emergency medications
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
• RTO requests of more than one week in advance must be submitted prior to starting the assignment
• Holiday availability must be confirmed prior to placement
• Pre-start online modules are required for facility clearance and take approximately 1–2 hours; modules are non-paid
