Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience, with a rotating 36/48 schedule and telemetry expertise.

Details

• Hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit on an expanding floor
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 (subject to fluctuation based on census and call-ins)
• Meditech EMR
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, on a rotating 36/48 schedule (alternating 3x12 and 4x12 weeks)
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license currently in hand — required, no exceptions
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• Driver's license required; address must match permanent address
• Two professional references required: one charge nurse or higher, one supervisor — both completed within the last year
• Middle name required for consideration; confirmation needed if no middle name exists

Additional Information

• Orientation is scheduled on a bi-weekly basis
• Must be willing and able to work the rotating 36/48 schedule (one week 3x12, next week 4x12) — inability to accept this schedule may result in cancellation
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted after submission
• Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Travelers who have worked within this health system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
• Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unit
