Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment with a 36-hour work week over 3 days per week
• Day shift schedule from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
• 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with call shifts lasting 13 hours and an expectation to be onsite within one hour
• 2-week night rotation required for all travelers
• No block scheduling available
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Illinois) in good standing required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
• TNCC certification highly preferred

Additional Information

• Serve as a professional caregiver responsible for a designated group of ED patients, utilizing the nursing process and current nursing trends
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
• Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous patient assessment
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient documentation for care continuity
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote a safe, healing environment for patients, families, and staff
• Report and correct safety hazards as part of ongoing patient and staff safety responsibilities
• This is a high-risk department assignment
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
