Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PEDS night shift position at a Level 1 pediatric trauma center requiring 2+ years of pediatric respiratory therapy experience.

Details

  • Children's hospital setting providing respiratory care for pediatric patients throughout the facility
  • Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, Level IV NICU, teaching hospital, chest pain center, and certified stroke center
  • Neonate to pediatric age range patient population
  • Units include ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and general medical floors
  • Uses IPPV/NIPPV ventilators
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred, with option to test out for faster onboarding
  • 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0700 or similar rotating times
  • 36 hours per week on a 6-week schedule cycle
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend
  • No call requirements
  • No floating to other facilities due to specialty needs

Requirements

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
  • RRT or CRT certification required
  • NC licensure required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience on a Resource Team with combined pediatric unit experience in the past 5 years
  • Peds-only assignment experience required, not mixed age populations
  • IPPV/NIPPV ventilator experience required
  • ED or ICU level experience should be disclosed if applicable
  • Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the unit specialty area within the last year
  • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory therapy services to pediatric and neonatal patients throughout the facility
  • Supported by Respiratory Leadership team
  • Onboarding includes 3 days total, with 2 days covering computer systems, equipment, and facility orientation
  • Additional unit-specific orientation day provided for each intensive care unit assigned if traveler has multi-unit ICU experience
  • Holiday coverage requires working 75% of holidays
  • Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the assignment
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Free parking available
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Radius rule requires permanent address to be 50 miles outside the home unit; local candidates not accepted
  • Returning employees must be separated from any facility within the health system for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
  • Manager will conduct a final clinical interview
