Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an orthopedic hospital in Fort Wayne, IN, with day shift hours and a 1:5 patient ratio.
Details
- Fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry unit in an orthopedic hospital setting
- 37-bed unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Post-surgical patient population managed per surgeon preference, with established order sets and protocols
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- No on-call requirement
- No floating required
- Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active IN RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date)
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Scrub colors: black or royal blue
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible
- RTO requests must be less than one week in duration; no blackout dates or required holidays
- Great team atmosphere with established protocols and order sets supporting post-surgical care optimization
