Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, with night shift availability and every-other-weekend scheduling.

Details

Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Required to work every other weekend
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
No on-call requirements
16-week contract length

Requirements

Active GA or Compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of ED/ER nursing experience required
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage required
Experience with ventilated patients and continuous IV sedation required
Procedural sedation administration/monitoring experience preferred
Copies of all certifications required for consideration
Two supervisory references (manager level or above) strongly preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted
All RTO must be finalized prior to acceptance; no RTO or schedule requests will be accommodated after an offer is made or during the assignment
Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work 2 of them, with 1 holiday RTO request eligible for review
Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff, per diem, or FCSS must have been away from all system facilities for a full year before being considered as a traveler
Travelers who were previously canceled or placed on a Do Not Return list must successfully complete one assignment outside of this health system before reapplying
Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed by the Tuesday prior to the start date; delays in compliance may result in a two-week pushback due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule
