Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, with night shift availability and every-other-weekend scheduling.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
- 16-week contract length
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ED/ER nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage required
- Experience with ventilated patients and continuous IV sedation required
- Procedural sedation administration/monitoring experience preferred
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above) strongly preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- All RTO must be finalized prior to acceptance; no RTO or schedule requests will be accommodated after an offer is made or during the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work 2 of them, with 1 holiday RTO request eligible for review
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff, per diem, or FCSS must have been away from all system facilities for a full year before being considered as a traveler
- Travelers who were previously canceled or placed on a Do Not Return list must successfully complete one assignment outside of this health system before reapplying
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed by the Tuesday prior to the start date; delays in compliance may result in a two-week pushback due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule
