Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring LDRP and Newborn Nursery experience, with Epic proficiency and an active NY RN license in hand.
Details
- Community hospital Labor & Delivery unit setting, with community hospital experience preferred
- LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and Newborn Nursery patient population
- Provides comprehensive care across all phases: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Rotating weekend coverage required, every other weekend
- On-call required
- Floating required within skillset
- Charts using Epic (required)
Requirements
- Active NY RN license currently in hand required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of acute hospital experience with OB/L&D experience required
- Experience in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care required
- LDRP and Newborn Nursery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, infusion pump management, and blood product administration
- Skills in fetal monitoring including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, external and internal fetal monitoring
- Experience with neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, and radiant warmer/thermoregulation
- Ability to assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulate/scrub/recover for C-sections
- Experience managing obstetric medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- Experience with postpartum care including postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and cesarean recovery
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Independently provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across all phases of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- Responsibilities include obstetric triage, sterile vaginal and speculum exams, Foley catheter insertion/management, epidural anesthesia assistance, and newborn assessments and discharge teaching
- Surgical procedures include D&C and tubal ligation
- RTO is limited to no more than 10 days for the duration of the assignment; all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 1-year gap before returning
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Pre-employment modules are required and completed prior to start date; total module time may reach up to 10 hours
- Candidates with foreign education should be prepared for additional verification
