Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring LDRP and Newborn Nursery experience, with a valid NY RN license currently in hand.

Details

  • 13-week travel contract in a community hospital Labor & Delivery unit
  • Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Rotating weekend coverage required (every other weekend)
  • On-call shifts are required
  • Floating required within skillset
  • Cares for patients across all phases: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and Newborn Nursery patient population
  • Epic EMR experience is required

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP; EFM certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of acute hospital OB experience required
  • Hands-on experience in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care required
  • LDRP and Newborn Nursery experience required
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Skills required include: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, infusion pump use, cardiac monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, external and internal fetal monitoring, C-section circulation/recovery/scrubbing, and postpartum hemorrhage management
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Independently provides comprehensive care to patients in all phases of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Responsibilities include triage of OB patients, sterile vaginal and speculum exams, APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, epidural and pain management, and discharge teaching to parents
  • Manages medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
  • Cares for patients with conditions including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, gestational diabetes, PPROM, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
  • Surgical experience expected: D&C, tubal ligation, and C-section support (circulate, scrub, recover)
  • Community hospital experience is preferred
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • RTO requests of more than 10 days will affect eligibility for this position
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a gap of at least 1 year before returning

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish.
