Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist specializing in Neuro IR at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in Charleston, SC, requiring at least 2 years of IR and Neuro experience.

Details

  • Located in an 865-bed Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital
  • Interventional Radiology unit with a focus on Neuro IR cases
  • Daily caseload of 4–5 cases per tech
  • Schedule is either 5x8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) or 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM)
  • On-call required every 5th weekend and one night per week; must be within 30 minutes of the facility during on-call hours
  • No floating within or to sister facilities required
  • Charting via Epic

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology and Neuro IR experience required
  • Current BLS (AHA) and ARRT (R) certification required
  • SC state license required if applicable; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must be active prior to start
  • Must provide own radiation badge — the facility does not supply radiation badges to travelers
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is subject to manager and unit needs
  • Facility-provided scrubs are included
  • Parking is free on days; a one-time $20 fee applies for a parking pass covering nights and weekends
  • Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
  • This facility is in a hurricane-prone region; during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams — peak activity months are August and September

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish. Amanda has been awesome throughout my assignment. She checks in regularly with a call or text just to see how things are going and make sure I don’t need anything.
