Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work on a tele-capable Med/Surg unit primarily caring for medical-surgical patients
• Patient population includes observation, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/end of life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes management, and surgical/surgical observation patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
• Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and related med/surg competencies required
• Current driver's license required to verify address

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse medical-surgical population, including telemetry monitoring as needed
• Facility maintains a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local rates apply
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel experience is a plus but not required
