Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Work on a tele-capable Med/Surg unit primarily caring for medical-surgical patients
- Patient population includes observation, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/end of life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes management, and surgical/surgical observation patients
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- LTAC experience preferred
- Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
- Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and related med/surg competencies required
- Current driver's license required to verify address
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for a diverse medical-surgical population, including telemetry monitoring as needed
- Facility maintains a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local rates apply
- RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel experience is a plus but not required
