Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an OR position requiring at least 2 years of Level 1 trauma experience and prior travel assignments, working nights in a high-volume, multi-service-line operating room environment.
Details
- Hospital OR setting with 28 operating rooms handling 60–80 cases per day
- Service lines include orthopedics (total joints), general surgery, robotics, organ transplants (kidney), ENT, oral/maxillofacial, vascular/thoracic, urology, pediatrics, and neonatal
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend requirement: 2–3 shifts per 6-week scheduling period, typically Saturday or Sunday (not both)
- At least 1 holiday required
- No on-call requirement for night shift
- EMR: Epic (OpTime module)
- Scrubs provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a Level 1 trauma setting
- Ability to navigate neuro, trauma, pediatric, transplant, and organ procurement cases required
- Scrub and circulate experience preferred
- Neonate and pediatric OR experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required — this cannot be a first travel assignment
- Epic OpTime experience required
- 2 professional references required for consideration

- Typical overnight cases include trauma, neuro, pediatric, and organ procurement procedures
- Weekend rooms typically run 5–6 rooms on Saturday and Sunday, with 4 rooms for urgent Sunday cases and 2 rooms on nights
- Scrub and circulate responsibilities are expected across a variety of service lines
