Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a hospital-based position requiring 4 years of Operating Room experience across multiple specialties including Neuro, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Ortho.
Details
- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 6:30 to 19:00
- Weekend and call requirements are variable and discussed during interview
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice, including to outpatient as needed
- Epic charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
- Required experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic procedures
- Specific surgical skills required including craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, arthroscopy, and total joint replacement
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Unit does not accept first-time travelers
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties
- Candidates will undergo a clinical screening to determine fit before manager review
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO requests permitted during orientation week or after offer/onsite
- No holiday RTO approved during blackout dates of 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
- If 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if 3 holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Full compliance required to start on time, with documents due the Tuesday prior to start
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Previous Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who cancelled or received a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
- Shift and contract length are firm with no schedule requests permitted
- Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
