Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology Clinic RN for a 13-week travel contract, requiring a TX or Compact RN license, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification, and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Outpatient oncology clinic and infusion center setting
• Patient population includes all cancer diagnoses as well as malignant and non-malignant hematology conditions
• Chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration are core unit functions
• Patient ratio of 1:8
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
• OCN certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy and infusions, port access and management, central line care, PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and active immunotherapy
• Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies (e.g., anaphylaxis, sepsis, extravasation, spinal cord compression, acute tumor lysis syndrome)
• Proficiency in symptom management, psychosocial care, and patient/family education
• Experience in outpatient oncology or infusion center settings
• Phlebotomy skills and neutropenic precaution knowledge required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Travel experience preferred; first-time travelers should check position details for eligibility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Candidates residing in the following TX counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration; no RTO approved during the first week of orientation, and no more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved
• Onboarding modules (averaging 4–6 hours for RNs) are completed onsite during orientation
