Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week travel contract involving day shifts and floating across Eastern region hospitals ranging from long-term care to acute care settings.
Details
- Day shift, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Floating required between Eastern region hospitals, ranging from long-term care to acute care facilities, with location determined during scheduling
- Patient population includes diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
- Procedures include ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, medication administration, and pulmonary hygiene
- Equipment used includes Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, and V60 ventilators
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, T-piece, trach collar, bag and mask, and ET tube used
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Every other weekend coverage required, approximately 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- RRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Active state license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy
- Experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings required
- Proficiency in intubation assist, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning (ETT, NT, oral/nasal), tracheostomy care/management, sputum specimen collection, BiPAP/CPAP management, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Long-term care experience required
- Personal vehicle required due to the rural nature of many locations where rideshare services are unreliable
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- Up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment may be called off; shifts placed on-call in lieu of being called off count toward this total
