Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring moderate sedation proficiency, Epic experience, and a minimum of 2 years of endoscopy nursing experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Endoscopy unit
- Day/Evening shifts, 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM
- Weeknight on-call requirement
- May be required to stay past scheduled end of shift to complete the day's case schedule
- Manages pre/post procedural care across all levels including PACU/Phase I and Phase II recovery
- Patient population includes those undergoing GI and pulmonary procedures such as ERCP, EUS, EGD, colonoscopy, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy; some patients receive general anesthesia rather than moderate sedation
- Uses an RN-driven assessment approach to sedation, with patients managed within a targeted sedation range based on Ramsay Sedation Scale scores
- Epic EMR used; prior experience required
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent endoscopy nursing experience required
- Experience recovering sedated patients from GI and pulmonary procedures (ERCP, EUS, EGD, colonoscopy, endoscopy, bronchoscopy) required
- Proficiency in administering and monitoring Moderate Sedation required
- Experience at an academic Level 1 Trauma Center or similarly sized hospital required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be able to pass a telemetry test prior to start
