Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with C-EFM certification and prior travel experience for a 13-week contract requiring weekend availability and scrub/float capabilities.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:50 AM – 7:20 PM
- Weekend shifts required
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Float required to Mother/Baby and scrub roles
- On-call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)
- Antepartum and high-risk antepartum patient populations
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, C-EFM (through NCC), NRP, and STABLE
- Preferred certifications: ACLS and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required; 3 years strongly preferred
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel or per diem assignment
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- 2 supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Driver's license required for local eligibility determination
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-sections, fetal monitoring (external and internal), triage of obstetrical patients, antepartum and postpartum care, and neonatal care in the delivery room
- Additional skills include administration of Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, prostaglandins, and terbutaline
- Neonatal duties include APGAR scoring, ID/security banding, radiant warmer use, cord sample collection, and newborn assessment
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible to apply; local candidates are considered at a different rate
- Nurses with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for a minimum of one year before being considered as a traveler
- Candidates may only be submitted to one location within this health system at a time
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
- RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and cannot be changed once the profile is under review
- Interviews with the manager are not guaranteed; candidates should be comfortable proceeding without one
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
