Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring CNMT or NMTCB certification and experience in adult and nuclear cardiology settings.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting in the Nuclear Medicine department
- Adult and Nuclear Cardiology patient population
- Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- On-call required on a rotating weekly basis, including after-hours coverage on Saturdays and Sundays
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Uses Siemens equipment for imaging procedures
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required
- BLS certification required
- CNMT or NMTCB certification required
- License required if applicable
- Experience in adult and nuclear cardiology settings required
- Proficiency in Gastric Emptying, HIDA Scan, MUGA Scan, 3 Phase, Whole Body Bone Scan, Liver Imaging, Perfusion, Ventilation/Perfusion studies
- Experience with Exercise/Rest-Multiple and Pharmacological Stress procedures
- Ability to start and maintain peripheral IVs
- Knowledge of storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
- Familiarity with isolation precautions and PPE
- Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing SPECT imaging, bone scans, sestamibi parathyroid scans, thyroid studies, brain scans, cerebral blood flow studies, and renal flow/function studies
- Additional procedures include lung scans, DTPA aerosol studies, myocardial perfusion imaging, and tumor localization
- Must be able to draw venous blood as part of routine duties
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates
- Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must be separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
