Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and a minimum of 3 years of ER experience, with variable shifts available at 36 or 48 hours per week.

• Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital setting
• 12-hour variable shifts available at 36 or 48 hours per week
• Epic EMR is used; prior Epic experience is required
• Collaborative care team including physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Patient population spans all age groups including neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric

Requirements

• Active CA RN license, unrestricted and in good standing
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current PALS certification (American Heart Association) required at time of hire
• TNCC certification required within 1 year of hire
• Demonstrated competency in IV sedation required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 3 years of recent emergency department experience required
• Must have worked in the ER specialty within the last 3 months
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Two supervisor references required: one from the past year and one from within the past two years
• Candidates must have a clean, unrestricted license history (no prior license hits)

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care consistent with the medical plan, incorporating patient and family input
• Delegates appropriate aspects of patient care to other nursing staff within their legal scope of practice
• Incorporates patient teaching and discharge planning into the overall care plan
• This position is represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA)
• MICN and CEN certifications are preferred
• RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer for the duration of the contract
