Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical (Adult) position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of med/surg experience and an active Hawaii RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based medical unit with 50 beds serving adult patients (18 and over)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift position with various shift lengths and days — flexibility is required
• 36 hours per week scheduled following the first full week of orientation
• Floating may be required to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units
• Meditech EMR used in the unit
• Equipment includes Pyxis, wound vacs, chest tubes, and related medical devices
• 15-week contract

Requirements

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum 2 years of med/surg or higher level of care experience
• BLS required; ACLS preferred

Additional Information

• Provides med/surg level RN care to adult patients including wound care, chest tube management, and medication administration via Pyxis
• Department-specific training and orientation is provided during the first week
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to their assignment start date — plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday Employee Health appointment
• No holiday RTO requests will be accepted
• Professional nursing attire required; no specific scrub color, closed-toe shoes required
