Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Unit night shift position in Hawaii, requiring a valid HI RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Medical Unit with 77 beds
- Adult med-surg patient population
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on days and evenings, and 1:8 on nights
- Night shift position with variable shift lengths and days — flexibility is required
- 36-hour weekly schedule following the first full week of orientation
- EMR system: Meditech; medication dispensing via Pyxis
- Equipment used includes wound vacs and chest tubes
- Floating may be required to the Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Must be flexible with various shift lengths and schedules
Additional Information
- Professional nursing attire required
- Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical or religious exemption required prior to contract start — flu vaccination may be administered during the Employee Health clearance appointment
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours before the start of their assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend the Friday morning Employee Health appointment
- Orientation is provided for each unit
- Orientation period occurs during the first full week of the assignment
