Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Florida, requiring Level 1 trauma experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Hospital Emergency Department setting with 30+ beds
• Level 1 trauma center environment with Trauma Bay assignments
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 or 5:1 depending on assigned area
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR — experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (both via AHA), TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a 30-bed or larger emergency department
• Level 1 trauma center experience strongly preferred; must be able to independently manage Level 1 trauma patients in the Trauma Bay
• Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) combined with 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months at a US hospital
• Epic EMR experience required
• All certifications must be current at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care including independent management of Level 1 trauma patients in the Trauma Bay
• A pass/fail Basic Arrhythmia (EKG) assessment is required — candidates who do not score 100% on the lethal rhythms section will have the opportunity to retake a dysrhythmia exam within 24 hours and must meet the required passing thresholds before starting
• Proof of vaccination status is required — declinations are not accepted
• This is a smoke-free facility
• Local candidates residing within a 60-mile radius of the facility are considered, though at a different rate than travel candidates
