Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in a large, busy, high-acuity General Emergency Department (Non-Trauma)
• 59-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
• Treats adolescent to geriatric patient population
• Maintains a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Stroke and STEMI certified facility
• Evening shift, 3x12 hours (1:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
• 14-week assignment length
• Works every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Rare floating required, within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic EMR (required) and Pyxis medication system
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; SANE and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; at least 2-3 completed ER travel contracts preferred
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Epic EMR experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, IV therapy, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac monitoring specialties
• Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of conditions including pediatric emergencies, psychiatric crises, trauma, respiratory distress, and neurological events
• Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Prior Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or not renewed must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
