Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in a large, busy, high-acuity General Emergency Department (Non-Trauma)
- 59-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
- Treats adolescent to geriatric patient population
- Maintains a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Stroke and STEMI certified facility
- Evening shift, 3x12 hours (1:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
- 14-week assignment length
- Works every other weekend unless otherwise specified
- Rare floating required, within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Uses Epic EMR (required) and Pyxis medication system
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; SANE and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; at least 2-3 completed ER travel contracts preferred
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Epic EMR experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, IV therapy, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac monitoring specialties
- Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a broad range of conditions including pediatric emergencies, psychiatric crises, trauma, respiratory distress, and neurological events
- Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
- RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Prior Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or not renewed must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
