Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT/Rad Tech for a freestanding emergency department in Rapid City, SD, requiring at least 2 years of CT experience and comfort performing both CT and X-ray duties independently.
Details
- Position is based in a freestanding emergency department (FSED) with 9 ED rooms, 2 inpatient hold rooms, 1 CT room, and 1 X-ray room
- Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric, including walk-in ED patients, scheduled outpatient scans, and ER referrals — ambulances are not currently accepted
- Common scan types include extremities, spine, abdomen, and general CT and X-ray; no neuro, cardiac, or special procedures (stroke patients are transferred out)
- Candidate will serve as the sole CT/X-ray Tech on shift
- EMR is Epic; PACS is Sectra
- Equipment includes a Siemens CT (Go Excite software); X-ray uses a CarStream room and portable unit — experience preferred
- Schedule is 12-hour shifts: days 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and nights 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call required
- Holiday coverage is expected for approximately 50% of holidays within the contract period
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience required; candidates with a gap in X-ray experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be comfortable performing both CT and X-ray duties and working independently
- BLS and ARRT-CT certification required
- No South Dakota state license required; license required if applicable
- 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform general CT and X-ray imaging including extremities, spine, and abdomen for ED and outpatient populations
- A CT assistant is available on site from 7:00 AM–4:30 PM; an ED supervisor and Imaging Manager are also available on site or by phone
- On-site orientation (NEO) is approximately 36–40 hours
- First-time travelers are welcome, provided they are comfortable working independently
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Scrub color required is black
- Free parking is available on site
