Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and an active DC RN license.

Details

• 48-bed cardiac-focused stepdown unit in a hospital setting
• Unit includes 4 pulmonary care beds and 10 cardiac surgery beds (cardiac surgery patients not required to be taken by travelers)
• Primary patient diagnoses include CHF, NSTEMI, arrhythmias, and vascular surgery
• Frequent IV drips administered include Heparin, Milrinone, Lasix, and Bumex
• 3x12-hour day shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Cerner EMR used; experience required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license for Washington, DC (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry RN experience in a US hospital required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly desired
• Cerner EMR experience required
• US Social Security Number required
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• All certifications must be AHA-issued
