Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Acute position requiring Epic EMR experience and an active CA RN license for night shift coverage.

Details

• Acute Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 12-hour shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Epic EMR used; prior Epic experience is required
• Patient population spans all age groups including neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric

Requirements

• Active CA RN license, unrestricted and in good standing
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience, with clinical work in the specialty within the last 3 months
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Two supervisory references required: one from within the past year and one from within the past two years
• Clean license history required — candidates with any prior license action will not be considered

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients throughout the designated shift
• Develops and implements nursing care plans based on the nursing process, consistent with the medical plan of care and patient/family input
• Collaborates with physicians and the broader healthcare team to coordinate patient care delivery
• Incorporates patient teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care
• Delegates appropriate aspects of care to other nursing staff based on competency and legal scope of practice
• Position is represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA)
• RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer for the duration of the contract — requests exceeding this will result in automatic disqualification
