Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 3 NICU travel assignment in Fort Wayne, IN, requiring ACLS, BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications with a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience.

Details

  • Level 3 NICU in a 40-bed unit at a hospital in Fort Wayne, IN
  • Patient population ranges from stable feeder-grower infants to critically ill Level 3 NICU patients
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
  • Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
  • Block scheduling is in place for this position
  • Floating may be required to assist in other areas, though travelers will not take an independent assignment in another unit
  • No on-call requirements
  • EMR: Cerner
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Indiana (IN) or a Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE — none may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Level 3 NICU experience specifically required
  • A valid Driver's License is required for consideration
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provides direct bedside care to a diverse NICU patient population, from stable feeder-growers to critical Level 3 infants
  • Orientation consists of two 12-hour shifts
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • RTO requests must be less than one week for the duration of the contract
  • Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
  • First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but 2 years of NICU experience is required
