Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel ICU RN for a 13-week Days contract requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and floating to ER and Med-Surg.
Details
- Work in a 12-bed Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3 with ICU total care responsibilities
- Perform ventilator management, titratable drips, and hygiene care
- Floating required to Emergency Services and Med-Surg departments based on a float rotation log
- When floating to ER, duties include answering call lights, passing meds, transporting patients, starting IVs, and blood draws
- When floating to Med-Surg, may take a full patient assignment of up to 6 patients or serve as an aide for up to 12 patients
- Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
- No on-call requirements
- Uses MedHost EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- ER and Med-Surg experience required
- TNCC certification preferred
- Experience with ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene care preferred
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of contract start
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Active driver's license and US Social Security Number required for consideration
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers
Additional Information
- Provide total patient care in the ICU including ventilator management and titratable drip administration
- Participate in a float rotation between ICU, ER, and Med-Surg departments
- Scrubs of any color are permitted
- Holiday coverage is required
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local travelers are not accepted
- RTO requests must be less than 1 week
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years will not be considered
- Blocked scheduling may be accommodated if requested at time of consideration
