Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of recent L&D experience and TN or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within the Women's and Children's building
- 12-bed unit staffed with RNs, unit secretary, and OR techs
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Charting completed in CPN and Meditech
- 13-week assignment with 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift schedule
- Scheduling includes 3 weekend shifts and 1 call shift per schedule cycle, consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts
- Travelers are required to float first per unit policy
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Current certifications required: NRP, ACLS, BLS, and AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM
- Experience caring for laboring patients and newborns immediately after delivery
- Experience circulating and recovering C-section patients required
- Experience with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for laboring patients, including delivery and immediate postpartum newborn care
- Circulate and recover cesarean section patients as part of unit responsibilities
- Unit emphasizes shared decision-making as part of the patient experience approach
- Scrubs are required in Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray and are not provided by the facility
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
