Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting with 36 rooms/beds
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Float required to units of equal acuity
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience with heparin protocols and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Manage patients with cardiac, neurological, gastrointestinal, and renal conditions including pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Perform feeding tube care, surgical drain management, and wound care as needed
• Not accepted for candidates residing in specific nearby counties as determined by the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are not accepted as locals
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience level
