Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position at an acute care hospital, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Telemetry unit of a 233-bed acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Epic EMR experience required
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
- Floating within service line is required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license currently held (must match permanent residence if compact)
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS and CPI preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation required
- Experience with cardiac medications and drips (non-titration) required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and administration of heparin protocols and cardiac drips (no titration)
- Additional preferred skills include pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, TAVR, pacemaker management, and CBI
- Navy scrubs required
- No parking costs at this facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment; a maximum of 7 days of RTO is allowed for the duration of the 13-week contract
- Travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
- Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before working at any BJC facility as a traveler
- Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to the assignment start date
- Fit testing is required; candidates must have facial hair that allows for proper mask fit or be willing to shave
