Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Hematology Oncology Clinic position requiring active chemotherapy certification and a minimum of one year of chemo experience.
Details
- Outpatient Hematology Oncology Clinic setting
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (0730–1800) with a rotating day off between Monday and Wednesday
- Handles a wide range of oncology patient types including leukemia, lymphoma, breast, lung, colorectal, and other cancers
- Performs IV therapy, port access and management, central line care, PICC line care, and chemotherapy administration
- EMR: Epic experience required, no exceptions
- Float within scope may be required as needed
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius requirement
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
- Minimum 1 year of chemotherapy administration experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in IV therapy, port access and management, central line blood draws, PICC line care, and chemotherapy administration
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited); BSN preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 professional references from supervisor level or above required for consideration
Additional Information
- OCN certification preferred
- Administer chemotherapy including continuous infusions, IV push, oral, and biotherapy agents, and manage cytotoxic spills
- Monitor and manage oncology-related symptoms including nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, edema, altered mental status, and mucous membrane alterations
- Modules are assigned and completed during orientation week via the facility's Learning Exchange platform
- Candidates must not have been employed by this health system within the previous 12 months
- This is a drug-free and tobacco-free/smoke-free campus — smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus
- Natural nail policy is enforced at this facility
- Travelers are not guaranteed holidays off
