Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel contract in an acute care setting, with required skills in ventilator management and vasoactive drips.

Details

• Acute care ICU/CCU setting with 10 mixed ICU/CCU beds and 9 intermediate (stepdown) beds
• Medical and abdominal surgical patient population; no neuro or cardiac surgery cases
• ICU/CCU nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1; telemetry ratio is 4:1
• No aides on night shift
• Procedures and equipment include ventilators, arterial lines, CVP lines, temporary pacers, and outsourced acute dialysis; no IABP or hemodynamic monitoring beyond art lines and CVP
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 0700–1930
• Travelers are generally scheduled no more than every other weekend; weekend scheduling depends on unit needs and may occasionally include Sundays

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required
• Proficiency in ventilator management, vasoactive drip administration, and multi-medication management
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Floating to the medical-surgical ward is required on a rotating basis when ICU census is low
• The unit is a combined ICU/CCU and intermediate (stepdown) environment
