Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel contract in an acute care setting, with required skills in ventilator management and vasoactive drips.
Details
- Acute care ICU/CCU setting with 10 mixed ICU/CCU beds and 9 intermediate (stepdown) beds
- Medical and abdominal surgical patient population; no neuro or cardiac surgery cases
- ICU/CCU nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1; telemetry ratio is 4:1
- No aides on night shift
- Procedures and equipment include ventilators, arterial lines, CVP lines, temporary pacers, and outsourced acute dialysis; no IABP or hemodynamic monitoring beyond art lines and CVP
- EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 0700–1930
- Travelers are generally scheduled no more than every other weekend; weekend scheduling depends on unit needs and may occasionally include Sundays
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required
- Proficiency in ventilator management, vasoactive drip administration, and multi-medication management
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- BSN not required
Additional Information
- Floating to the medical-surgical ward is required on a rotating basis when ICU census is low
- The unit is a combined ICU/CCU and intermediate (stepdown) environment
