Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR position requiring an IL RN license in hand, BSN, and at least 2 years of cardiovascular OR experience, with on-call and weekend requirements.

Details

• Hospital-based CVOR setting with occasional floating to other units or facilities within the health system at the manager's request
• Cardiovascular surgical patient population including procedures such as CABG, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD, aortic aneurysm repair, mitral valve replacement, MAZE procedure, atrial septal defect repair, IABP, atherectomy, and pericardial window
• Primary responsibility is circulating cardiac surgery; ability to scrub is preferred
• Day shift schedule: 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• On-call required on a 3 days on / 3 days off call rotation; must be within 30 minutes of the facility while on call
• Weekend work required
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license currently in hand — emergency or pending licenses are not accepted
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR or cardiovascular OR experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification through AHA required; ACLS through AHA preferred
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Strong analytical abilities
• Skills checklist required for consideration
• Two references required for consideration — at least one must be from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the past year
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be added afterward
• Vaccination status must be provided

Additional Information

• Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are eligible to apply at a local pay rate
• Previous employment at Northwestern Medicine or any of its acquired facilities must be disclosed
• Floating between units or facilities within the health system is possible upon manager's request, though it is rare
