Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position on night shift, requiring 2 years of L&D experience and an NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the L&D/OB-GYN unit with simple med/surg overflow on the 2nd floor of a hospital setting
• Unit has 6 beds plus 1 triage/recovery room in L&D with an OR on the unit; PP unit has 12 beds
• Patient population includes OB, postpartum, GYN, and med/surg overflow (hip and knee patients)
• L&D staff circulate for C-sections
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN standards for L&D; PP ratio is 6:1 max, typically 3-4:1
• Uses GE Centricity and Meditech systems
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating every other weekend required
• Minimal call requirements
• Float requirements: L&D floats only to sit or task for low census; PP rotates for low census

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications required
• Fetal monitoring class completed within the last 2 years
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• RN-prepared education required
• Team player personality fit preferred
• OR circulating experience for L&D preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across L&D, OB/postpartum, GYN, and med/surg overflow patients
• Hospital-supplied scrubs required for L&D; any professional scrub attire acceptable for PP/GYN
• Orientation is offered on a bi-weekly basis
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
