Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of Level I acute L&D experience and KY or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit, rotating through L&D, Postpartum, and Nursery
• Community-level facility with 100-200 births per month
• Care for low-risk mother/baby and newborn patients
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule alternating between 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of current L&D experience in a Level I acute care setting required
• Experience in L&D, Postpartum, and Nursery required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• Skilled in postpartum care, cesarean section circulation and recovery, vaginal delivery management, newborn assessment, and antepartum care
• Experience with epidural anesthesia, PCA pumps, and insulin drip administration
• Valid driver's license with address matching permanent residence required for consideration
• Two professional references required (one Charge or higher, one supervisor), both completed within the last year

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units
• Perform newborn assessments, discharge teaching, and infant identification procedures
• Manage postpartum complications including hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
• Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after completing one year before returning to the system
• First-time travelers are not required for this position
