Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac/PCU Stepdown position requiring an active MI RN license and at least 1 year of stepdown or PCU experience.
Details
- 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Cardiac IMCU floor rated Trauma Level 2
- 36-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with a cardiac and stepdown patient population
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
- Uses telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EHR
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Call required only during periods of low census
- Floating required
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
- PCU/stepdown and low-level ICU skills preferred
Additional Information
- Care for patients with chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular conditions, and CHF
- Strong teamwork skills required for this collaborative unit
- Navy or blue scrubs required; blue jeans not permitted
- Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
