Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Medical Surgical Telemetry (PCU/Stepdown) position at a Level II Trauma facility in Marquette, MI, requiring at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a 36-bed Cardiac IMCU/Medical Surgical Telemetry unit within a 225-bed specialty care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center
• Patient population includes cardiac, stepdown, and trauma patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre- and post-open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular conditions, and CHF
• Patient ratios are 1:5–6 for cardiac patients and 1:3–4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Telemetry monitoring equipment is utilized on the unit
• EMR: Cerner
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• Call may be required when census is low
• Floating is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA-issued certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
• Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and cardiac stepdown care required
• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must not reside within 60 miles of the facility to qualify for the travel assignment

Additional Information

• Preferred experience includes PCU/stepdown patient populations and low-level ICU skills
• Strong teamwork orientation is essential for this role
• Scrub color requirement: blue or navy; blue jeans are not permitted
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
