Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in Eureka, CA, requiring 2+ years of experience and ARDMS or CCI certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 150 staffed beds
- Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer unit performing adult echocardiography and related cardiac imaging
- Work settings include adult acute care and emergency department; adult outpatient and pediatric acute care experience preferred
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM
- On-call is required for this position
- No floating between like units within the contracted facility; however, travelers may be expected to float to sister facilities within the state
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- GE equipment experience preferred
- Free parking provided on the first day; assignment parking details provided during orientation
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer
- ARDMS or CCI certification required (either accepted); ARRT Sonography also accepted
- BLS required
- RDCS Adult certification preferred
- Proficiency in adult echo, bubble studies, imaging with contrast agents, and M-Mode required
- 3D echo, pharmacologic stress echo, RVIT, RVOT, TEE, and treadmill stress echo experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Valid CA license required if applicable; pending license not accepted
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies and may affect pay rate eligibility
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Travelers must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Travelers refusing to float to sister facilities within the state may be subject to termination of assignment
- Dark solid color scrubs required for Radiology
- Block schedule requests are subject to manager discretion
- Pre-start and annual compliance modules are required (non-billable, averaging 16 hours)
