Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of pediatric/neonatal experience for a night shift travel assignment in a hospital pediatric respiratory therapy unit in Springfield, MO.

Details

  • Work in a hospital-based pediatric respiratory therapy unit serving Peds, PICU, and NICU patients
  • Pediatric and neonatal patient population across an estimated 62 beds
  • Patient ratios are variable
  • Equipment includes Draeger VN500, Hamilton G-5, Oscillator, and Jet Vent
  • EMR: Epic
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30–07:00)
  • No weekend hours required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Float requirements: as needed within peds/neonatal areas

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited college program in Respiratory Care
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current state license in the state of practice (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric and neonatal experience, including prior Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care experience
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA only), NRP, and PALS
  • Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
  • No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Perform respiratory care interventions and procedures for pediatric and neonatal patients, including initiating and managing ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment
  • Participate in physician rounds and communicate patient goals and status changes to interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide patient and caregiver education and maintain timely, accurate documentation
  • Assist in the evaluation of new products, equipment, and procedures
  • Functions as a preceptor or resource person as needed
  • Black scrubs are required; no other scrub colors are acceptable
  • Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments between November 1 and April 1; declinations are not accepted
  • Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
  • Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
  • Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
